Affiliate disclosure

This site does not currently carry any affiliate links or advertising. The intention is to add affiliate links to water treatment equipment, and when that happens this page will say so and every commercial link will be marked.

We are not a water treatment dealer, installer or lead broker. We do not collect your details, and nothing on this site results in a salesperson contacting you.

• Recommendations do not depend on commission. Where the honest answer is that you need nothing, or that the cheaper option is adequate, the page says so.
• Every commercial link is marked with a sponsored attribute and opens in a new tab, so it is clear when you are leaving.
• We do not review products we have not used or specified without saying so. Where a page discusses equipment, it is on the basis of published specifications, and it says that plainly rather than implying hands-on testing.
• Health information is never monetised. Pages covering bacteria, nitrate and arsenic point to your health department and to EPA guidance, not to products.
• Calculators are not sales funnels. They show their assumptions, and they will tell you that you do not need a softener if you do not.

The obvious objection to affiliate revenue is that it gives a site a reason to recommend buying things. It does, and pretending otherwise would be silly.

Our answer is structural rather than a promise of virtue: this site earns most when someone buys the right equipment, and the fastest way to lose that is to send people to the wrong thing. A visitor who buys a softener for a sulfur smell does not come back. Being accurate is the business model, not a constraint on it.
